Injection Guide

Video walkthroughs, step-by-step technique for pens and insulin syringes, and the needle size and route commonly used for each product in the catalog.

Video walkthroughs

Each link opens a curated YouTube search so you always get current, working videos rather than a dead link. Prefer clips from pharmacists, nurses or clinics.

Filling a peptide pen

  1. 1Wash your hands and lay out the pen, a new pen needle, alcohol swabs and a sharps container.
  2. 2If the pen uses a cartridge, screw the cartridge holder onto the pen body until snug.
  3. 3Swab the rubber tip of the cartridge, then twist on a fresh pen needle and pull off both caps.
  4. 4Prime: dial 1–2 units, point the needle up, tap out bubbles and press the plunger until a bead of liquid appears at the tip. Repeat if nothing comes out.
  5. 5Dial your dose. Double-check the number in the window before you touch the pen to skin.
  6. 6Swab the site, pinch the skin, insert straight in at 90°, press the button fully and hold 10 seconds before withdrawing.
  7. 7Unscrew the needle and drop it straight into the sharps container — never recap or reuse it. Store the pen per its label (most mixed peptides go in the fridge).

Injecting with an insulin syringe

  1. 1Wash your hands. Swab both the peptide vial stopper and the bacteriostatic water stopper and let them dry.
  2. 2If the vial isn't mixed yet: draw your water with an 18–21G needle and run it slowly down the inside wall of the vial. Swirl gently — never shake.
  3. 3Pull the plunger of the insulin syringe to your dose in units, push that air into the vial, then invert the vial and draw your dose.
  4. 4Tap the barrel to float air bubbles to the tip and push them back into the vial. Re-check the unit mark against the calculator.
  5. 5Swab the injection site and let it dry. Pinch a fold of skin.
  6. 6Insert at 45–90° in one quick motion, inject slowly and steadily, then withdraw at the same angle.
  7. 7Press with a clean cotton pad — don't rub. Drop the whole syringe into a sharps container and rotate your site next time.

Needle sizes at a glance

  • Drawing / mixing: 18–21G × 1" — thick and fast for pulling water. Never inject with a draw needle.
  • Subcutaneous: 29–31G × 1/2" on a 0.5 mL U-100 insulin syringe (or a 4–6 mm pen needle).
  • Intramuscular: 23–25G × 1"–1.5" depending on the site and body composition.
  • Higher gauge = thinner needle. Use the thinnest needle that can move the fluid; thicker solutions need a lower gauge.
